I’ve found myself in situations where I liked a pair of headphones or a speaker, but they either lacked bass or had too much of it. Other times they sounded too thin, and I wanted to boost the mids. Unfortunately, Android doesn’t offer a system‑wide equalizer, and sometimes the manufacturer’s app isn’t enough. There’s an app I’ve been using that gives the user a lot of control: Poweramp Equalizer.

To make it work without any ADB modifications, I had to enable the Global Equalization setting.

The app also lets you link a preset to a specific device, so the next time you connect that device, the EQ settings are applied automatically. You just have to tap the three dots -> Save/Assign -> Enter the name for the preset and select the device -> Save.
